Our Original Base-Mix requires some preparation, but don't worry, you're not cooking dinner for your dog every night. You cook a "batch=10 cups" at a time, of freshly prepared food. Health begins in the kitchen, diet is perhaps the most important aspect to maintaining a dog's health, besides love of course!
Dogs love our Original Base-Mix, even the most finicky of dogs will thank you by cleaning their bowls. It's that good, in fact so good, once your dog has had a taste he or she will never settle for anything else. A food your dog will love to eat and love you for feeding it!
Commercial dog foods use preservatives to increase shelf life and artificial flavoring to enhance the way the food looks and tastes. Fresh meat does not "stay fresh" at room temperature for more than a few hours. These additives can have detrimental effects on your dog's short and long term health.

My Poodle, Maggie. I got her at 8 weeks in Aptos. This was in October of 2006. I think for the first several weeks, we fed her homemade food and milk. Shortly after I learned of Happy Dog. I've been 'that' guy who has cooked her every 6 weeks dinner, cooled it and put it in individual containers for the next 6 weeks. Cooking Happy Dog smells like a nice stew that We'd love to eat. We feed her this to today. She's 12, going on 13, and is honestly the healthiest, happiest Poodle you could imagine! I once tried to champion the whole "her **** doesn't stink" argument with friends and family. They understood, but I wanted to make a capitol case out of it. Happy Dog?, It's what our Canine Friends Need, and yeah, their **** don't stink. How do you write that in a review to make folks understand just how significant this really is? Zero smell on the little Poodle turds. Thank you Happy Dog, my Poodle is healthy, happy, stink free, and as vibrant as a dog could be. We owe it to you. Seriously. **** smell jokes aside, our dog is simply vibrant and alive at 13 years in having lived on only Happy Dog Dog Food her entire life. I'd feed her nothing else. Ever. She loves the taste and smell every month when I cook up a new batch to feed and freeze for later. She's never lost the enthusiasm for it. Neither have Mom or Me cooking it for her as it smells like Thanksgiving Dinner cooking on the stove while we make it for her. Kudos Happy Dog. Simply the best solution for the entire Life of your Dog. I'm humbled to write this, and will continue to recommend Happy Dog Dog Food to anyone who would listen. Very best regards, Mike, Jill, and Maggie Mae the Poodle, Santa Cruz Ca. 2018
Been using it since 2013 and never any problems. We have started putting fish skins and vegetable pulp after juicing carrots and celery into their food. Of course, we use the vitamin packet that comes with the food. I am just adding the above items rather that meat which I was adding before.
We received some Happy Dog Food from a friend, and our 2 big dogs have loved it from the start. They are healthy, active pooches, and they thrive on this food! We heartily recommend it?
I have been feeding my dogs Happy Dog for over 10 years. My senior dogs love it, they stay healthier and in much better physical shape, I cook big batches in a crockpot with lentils, veggies, blueberries and nutritional yeast and other things I have at hand! I also use some olive oil. You can add meat or plant proteins to this yummy mix! Try it!
