A Family Built Brand for Dogs We Love

In June 2008, my husband Robbie and I became the new owners of Happy Dog Food, a company originally founded in 1998 by Linda Murdock.

For two years before purchasing the business, we had been feeding our own dogs Happy Dog Food and absolutely loved the product. When Linda decided to retire and offered us the opportunity to continue the company she built, we jumped at the chance.

Happy Dog Food had already made a huge difference in our own dogs’ lives, and we knew we wanted to share that with other dog families.

The Dog Who Started It All

Our journey really began in 2006 with our foster dog, Knuckles.

Knuckles suffered from chronic diarrhea and vomiting. After many veterinary visits, we discovered he had an intolerance to most commercial dog foods. We tried several prescription diets but nothing seemed to help.

Determined to find a solution, we began researching raw diets, grain free foods, and home cooked meals.

A friend who had experienced great results with Happy Dog Food introduced us to Linda. She explained the philosophy behind feeding dogs natural, whole foods and described how the mixes were designed to be prepared with fresh ingredients.

We purchased our first bag for Knuckles.

From his very first meal, his gastrointestinal problems disappeared.

It was an incredible moment and a real eye opener for us.

The Difference We Saw

Soon we were feeding Happy Dog Food to all of our dogs, and the results were remarkable.

Our dogs became excited about mealtime. Their coats became healthier and shinier. They had more energy and overall vitality.

Our senior dog Joe even lost the extra weight he had been carrying for years. He was able to move more easily, his coat improved dramatically, and his overall health visibly improved.

Seeing these changes firsthand made us true believers in the power of feeding dogs real food.
